Frequently Asked Questions

Is Femmes Gravel for women only?

Femmes Gravel is for anyone who identifies as femme. We aim to create a welcoming, inclusive space on and off the bike.

Which pace group is right for me?

Check our our ride level page for all the details on our pace groups and skill levels.

Can I ride my e-bike on Femmes Gravel rides?

We encourage traditional (acoustic) gravel bikes, but we recognize they may not be accessible for everyone. If you plan to use an eBike, please reach out to the Femmes Gravel team. We have established guidelines for e-assisted participation to ensure safety and maintain the integrity of the program.

Need help finding a bike? DM us. We’re happy to recommend local shops where you can rent, demo, or purchase a gravel bike.

How do I sign up for the FG 100, and when does registration close?

You can register at femmesgravel.com. Registration is open now and closes on February 28, or sooner if we sell out.

We cap the program at 120 riders (and hit that max last year), so don’t wait to claim your spot.

I'm new to cycling, can I ride with the Femmes?

Femmes Gravel is not a beginner cycling program. Riders must be able to maintain a minimum average pace of 10 mph on gravel for at least 30 miles.

If you’re an experienced road cyclist or mountain biker who’s new to gravel, that’s fine, as long as you can hold the pace. Riders should be comfortable with group riding, have basic bike handling skills, and know how their bike works.

If you’re brand new to cycling, DM us and we’ll gladly recommend local group rides or clubs to help you get started.

When does training for the FG 100 begin?

Our training program begins Saturday, February 7, 2026.

Training rides will be weekly, every Saturday, building toward our 100 mile century ride on Saturday,
May 9, 2026.

Where can I find the 2026 FG 100 Rider Guide?

Why a Century Ride?

Why is 100 miles so important?  Riding 100 miles is a tangible yet challenging goal that provides a sense of accomplishment. Completing a 100 miles ride is a significant physical challenge that requires endurance, skill and mental resilience. Endurance group challenges foster a sense of camaraderie as participants share the experience, support each other and celebrate achievements together.

What kind of bike do I need?

You’ll need a gravel-equipped bike with tires suitable for gravel terrain. Northwest Arkansas gravel is technical and rocky, and skinny tires won’t cut it. We strongly recommend a minimum tire width of 38mm.
Gravel bikes are ideal. Mountain bikes are welcome if you can maintain the group pace. Road bikes are not safe on NWA gravel unless your frame can accommodate 38mm+ gravel tires.

Need help finding a bike? DM us. We’re happy to recommend local shops where you can rent, demo, or purchase a gravel bike.

What if I sign up for the FG 100 but I can't make every training ride or event?

That’s okay. We understand that not everyone can make every training ride or event. Femmes Gravel riders are welcome to participate as their schedules allow.
That said, we recommend attending at least five training rides to stay on track and feel prepared for the 100-mile ride.

What's included in the FG 100 registration?

Registering for Femmes Gravel gives you access to our full training program from February through May, including:
Weekly training rides
On-the-bike skills clinics
Entry into our fully supported 100-mile century ride on May 9

Your registration secures your spot in every ride and clinic designed to help you ride on Century Day prepared.
